Adopt-A-Wetland Workshops
Interested in monitoring a marsh, beach, or river? Attend one of our free workshops
to become a certified data collector! This “hands-on” training will
prepare volunteers to collect water quality and/or biological data.

Monitoring Network Sessions
These sessions meet every Thursday (except holidays), 10:00 am – 12:00.
Bring your coffee and help us monitor estuarine water quality and plankton blooms.

GEORGIA Oyster
Restoration Program
Participate in our community-based oyster shell recycling and reef restoration
program. Volunteers assist in shell collection, bagging, reef building, and
site monitoring. Wear old clothes and dress for the weather.

in teaching grades K-4 through our 2-hour Sea Star Program.

Meet at the parking lot of the Saltwater Grill on La Roche Ave.
No Maximum number of people
Volunteer for our annual trash clean up of the Herb River at the Saltwater Grill.
A limited number of kayaks are provided free of charge in this fun “paddle-n-pick-up”.
Marine Science
Day on Skidaway Island
Saturday, October 22 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
This event is open to the public, you can bring along your friends and/or family
to visit the marine science complex on Skidaway Island. In addition to the MAREX
buildings, all other offices such as Grays Reef, and Skidaway Institute of Oceanography
are open to the public. There will be marine science games, touch tank animals,
and tours of many facilities. Volunteers who would like to help out please see
the enclosed activity flyer and call me to sign up for a time slot or put your
name in the time slot and fax it to me (598-2399).
